Dibutyltin compounds

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dibutyltin compounds (abbreviated DBT after English dibutyltin ) are organotin compounds with two butyl groups .

presentation

Dibutyltin halides can be obtained in almost quantitative yield by comproportioning tetrabutyltin with tin halides:

Dialkyltin dihalides form alkyltin hydroxides or oxides with water.

use

Dibutyltin compounds are used as light and heat stabilizers for PVC . They are also used as catalysts in the production of polyisocyanates for polyurethane foams, lacquers, adhesives and sealants, in acrylic acid esters , silicones and silicic acid esters .
