Dibutyltin dichloride is a chemical compound of chlorine from the group of organotin compounds .
presentation
Dibutyltin dichloride can be obtained by reacting tetrabutyltin with tin (IV) chloride .
properties
Dibutyltin dichloride is a flammable, less volatile, white to yellow solid with a pungent odor, which is very sparingly soluble in water and slowly decomposes in it. In benzene it has a dipole moment of 4.38 Debye .
use
Dibutyltin dichloride was used in a concentration of 0.3 to 3% as a stabilizer for PVC . It is also used as an additive in rubber, as a catalyst in the manufacture of polyurethanes and silicones. So it is in insulation and coatings, food packaging, T-shirts, polyurethane gloves, sanitary napkins, medical devices, cellophane packaging and plush toys, PVC plastics (water pipes, packaging material, textile products), silicone rubber (sealants, dental products, paper coatings), polyurethanes (Foam plastics, adhesives / sealants), glass (coatings), insulation in electronic products and cables, contain worming agents for poultry.
