Dichagyris constanti is a butterfly ( moth ) from the family of the owl butterflies (Noctuidae).

The wingspan of the moth is 35 to 44 millimeters. The basic color of the forewings is pale yellowish to ocher, sometimes also pale reddish to grayish. Flaws and cross lines stand out in a dark color, but mostly indistinctly. A line made up of black dots runs along the hem. The upper side of the hind wings shimmers silky white.

Similar species

Euxoa powelli usually shows light gray-brown tones in terms of wing color. The males also clearly differ in their long combed antennae.

distribution and habitat

Dichagyris constanti occurs in Algeria , Morocco , Spain , southern France and northern Italy . The species prefers to colonize open terrain overgrown with sparse vegetation.

Way of life

The nocturnal moths fly in September and October. You visit artificial light sources and baits . The caterpillars feed polyphagously on the leaves of various lower plants.
