Didier Gadou

Didier Gadou (born September 28, 1965 in Dax ) is a former French basketball player .

career

The 2.03 meter tall winger spent his entire professional career at Élan Béarnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez (or EB Orthez before the name change). He played for the team from 1982 to 2002. Gadou was French champion seven times (1986, 1987, 1992, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2001) and the 1984 Korać Cup winner.

He became assistant coach at Pau-Orthez, in mid-March 2004 he was promoted to head coach as the successor to the dismissed Frédéric Sarre and led the team to win the championship that same year. He stayed in office until 2006. In 2008 he became President of Élan Béarnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez and in 2010 Managing Director.

National team

He took part with the French national team in the European Championships in 1991 and 1995. Gadou was used in 70 internationals, partly at the side of his brother Thierry .
