Thierry Gadou (born January 13, 1969 in Dax ) is a former French basketball player .

career

From 1988 to 2000, the 2.05-meter wing and inside player played for Élan Béarnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez in France's highest league, the LNB ProA . In 1992, 1996, 1998 and 1999 he became French champions with the team. The best values ​​of his time in Pau-Orthez reached Gadou in the 1996/97 season when he scored 15.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per encounter. He was there team-mate of his older brother Didier Gadou .

In 2000 Thierry Gadou switched to Viola Reggio Calabria in Italy . He scored an average of 8.8 points for the first division team in 33 league games. After a brief return to Pau-Orthez in autumn 2001, he moved to Caja San Fernando in the Spanish ACB league . He was in 30 league games of the 2001/02 season on the field and scored 6.8 points per encounter.

In the 2002/03 season he was under contract with ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne in his home country and then with Tau Céramica in Spain. In 2003/04 he joined Paris Basket Racing in France, at the end of his career Gadou was again a player in Pau-Orthez from 2004 to 2006.

National team

Gadou won silver with France's national team at the 2000 Summer Olympics , but was rarely used during the tournament. He also took part in the European Championships in 1993, 1995, 1997 and 1999. At the European Championships in 1997 he was the second best scorer of the French selection behind Yann Bonato with 13.5 points per use . In total, Gadou came to 121 internationals, in which he scored an average of 5.7 points.
