Dido Havenaar (born September 26, 1957 in Hazerswoude-Dorp ) is a former Japanese football goalkeeper and current football coach of Dutch origin. His sons Mike and Nikki are also professional soccer players.
Career
As a player
Dido Havenaar started his career at ADO Den Haag . He then played in Japan with Mazda FC , Yomiuri FC , Nagoya Grampus , Júbilo Iwata and Consadole Sapporo . In 1994, Dido Havenaar and his family received Japanese citizenship .
As a trainer
After he was mostly responsible for the goalkeeping training of his team during his active time in Japan, Dido Havenaar took over the job of goalkeeping coach after the end of his playing career at Consadole Sapporo and the Yokohama F. Marinos . In 2008 he became Dragan Stojković's assistant coach at Nagoya Grampus . In September 2011 he moved to Shimizu S-Pulse , where he was assistant coach to Afschin Ghotbi . In 2013 he moved to South Korea to Suwon Samsung Bluewings to work there again as a goalkeeping coach.
