The builder of Arkadia is a board game of Rüdiger Dorn . The game was published by Ravensburger Spieleverlag in 2006 .

Game objective

The aim of the game is to earn as much money as possible by building buildings and the fort. In addition, the two to four players represent the builders of wealthy families in the city of Arkadia (cloth merchants, spice merchants, carpenter and silversmith) and build houses, farms, inns, mills, blacksmiths, trading offices and monasteries on their behalf. All together also contribute to the construction of a fort, which increases influence and prestige within the city. Whoever has the most money in the end is the winner.

procedure

In each round of the game, the builder has the option of either employing workers (also known as migrant workers , if there is a shortage of skilled workers) or accepting a new contract for the construction of a building.

  1. A new building site (placing a building tile) is marked with the seal of the commissioning family.
  2. If he uses workers to force the construction of a building, worker pawns are placed around it. If a building is completely enclosed by other buildings or construction workers, it is considered finished and the workers are rewarded with family seals. Whoever carries out the last train for completion, acquires, in addition to an additional marking seal, the possibility of expanding the fort and thereby increasing the value of the seals acquired. These seals can in turn be sold to increase one's fortune.

Playing

The game ends as soon as the second floor of the fort is completed. Then each player can act again to sell all remaining seals. The winner is the builder who owns the most gold.
