The Bavarian Young Wolves ( French Les Louvarts de Bavière ) are a trompe school and a trompe ensemble with young wind players (starting age from eight years) from Chiemgau . The Jungwölfe were founded in 2015 in Traunstein .

background

The trompe de chasse and its musical culture originate from the courtly hunt of the Baroque period. It served the riding hunters behind the pack of dogs as a signal horn , but also as a polyphonic concert instrument for festive occasions. In the 2016 global group directory of the Fédération International des Trompes de France (FITF) there are three groups listed for Germany. Among these, the Bavarian Young Wolves are the only youth group. This unique position also applies to all of Europe.

The main task of the ensemble is to promote young trompe wind players in order to preserve the tradition of trompe music culture and its performance practice. The Bavarian Young Wolves maintain a cross-cultural musical tradition in intercultural exchange with other countries such as France, Belgium and Switzerland. They blow in the so-called ton de Vénerie “tone of hunting riding”, a style that differs fundamentally from that of all other natural and valve horns. A group member of the Bavarian Young Wolves was awarded the Prix des Espoirs of the FITF at the largest international trompe competition in France in 2015 as “ the bearer of hope for trompe music culture” . The Bavarian Young Wolves have been appearing at various public events since 2015.

ensemble

The Bavarian Young Wolves are a trompe school and a young trompe and wind ensemble from the Traunstein region in Chiemgau. Vocal and wind training are part of regular rehearsals, as well as blowing the trompe on horseback.

The ensemble of girls and boys is composed of several voices . You blow from the first to the second and partially stuffed third voice (intermediate tones are created by closing the bell with your hand) to the bass with the trompe of the same type. A special feature are complex group pieces, in which the children, each with several voices, present an interplay between forte and piano .

Several times a year there are exchanges with befriended trumpet players and trumpet teachers from neighboring countries, such as France, Switzerland or Belgium, in order to organize courses, excursions and joint concerts. The group also takes part in trompe competitions at home and abroad.
