The Bride is a Yugoslav animated short film directed by Borislav Šajtinac in 1971.
action
A bride stands in a wedding dress, with a wreath and a bouquet of flowers on a garbage dump in front of a bench and waits. Numerous strange people walk past her, a man in a coffin who buries himself, a man without a head, one with three legs who performs tricks, a blind man who proposes marriage to her, but kneels far next to her and other people, ignored by her. Night falls and the bride takes off her bouquet and leaves, but comes back a short time later. The next morning she gets up from the bench on which there is now an egg. The shell bursts and a bird hatches from the egg, which quickly develops into a swan. The bride enthusiastically throws off her dress and jumps naked on the swan that is walking away with her.
Awards
The bride won the Grand Prix (later Cristal d'Annecy) of the Festival d'Animation Annecy in 1971 .
