Die Elenden was a German band from Schwedt . The group played punk , ska and folk .

history

Founded in Les Misérables by Gunnar aka The Long misery (vocals) and Uli alias Kinski (bass). Gerrit aka Gerri Monster Guitar joined the band in 2000. The band's drummer was Tim Taler .

Their first album was named Bacilly from a small town in Normandy . In the summer of 2003 Die Elenden performed in Bacilly at the Festival Européen des Arts.

On February 2, 2007, the farewell concert took place in the " Kesselhaus in der Kulturbrauerei " in Berlin. Recordings for a live DVD were made here as well as a live stream for the Internet. The impression factory took over the management . After that, the band officially broke up.

Final concert:

After nine years of music together, the wretched decided to give their final concert on February 2, 2007 in the Kesselhaus of the Berlin Kulturbrauerei . As a special surprise, the entire 3½-hour concert was recorded on site by twelve cameras and projected live on a video screen. At the same time, the concert was streamed free of charge via the online channel Bunch.tv in order to give fans around the world the opportunity to follow the concert. The entire audiovisual production was carried out by Impressionsfabrik under the direction of Paul Andexel. At Christmas 2007 the double DVD "On the journey from 1997 to 2007" was released. In addition to the complete concert, the DVD includes a bonus DVD with over two hours of material. In addition to a 30-minute making-of, there is a documentation about the band that was produced especially for the final concert, live video recordings that were never published, music videos and interviews.
