The Finiteness of Freedom was an exhibition project in East and West Berlin that took place in public space from September 1 to October 7, 1990. The participants were: Giovanni Anselmo , Barbara Bloom , Christian Boltanski , Hans Haacke , Rebecca Horn , Ilya Kabakov , Jannis Kounellis , Via Lewandowsky , Mario Merz , Raffael Rheinsberg and Krzysztof Wodiczko .

Circumstances of origin

The project goes back to an idea of ​​the playwright Heiner Müller and the later participating artists Rebecca Horn and Jannis Kounellis from 1986. It was realized by Wulf Herzogenrath and Christof Tannert .
