The trapdoor ( Engl. The Trap Door ) is a children's series with Knetmännchen which in 1984 by the UK has been published. It was started by Terry Brain and Charlie Mills . There were 2 seasons with a total of 40 episodes. Each episode was about 5 minutes. All of the character voices of the English original were dubbed by Willie Rushton . The title melody was composed by Bob Heatlie . In Germany it was broadcast on Super RTL from 1995 to 1998. The main actor is Berk, the servant of the "being from above".

Characters

  • Berk , servant of the "being from above". He is a blue plump creature and loves to cook exotic dishes in his kitchen, should a monster not come out of the trap door to wreak havoc.
  • Bonuses , Berk's best friend. He is a talking skull (hence the name "boney") who spends most of the time in a niche in the main hall of the castle.
  • Trudi (Drutt) , Berk's house spider. It often creates trouble when it chases worms. About halfway through the 40 episodes, Trudi had 4 pink babies.
  • The being from above (The Thing Upstairs) , lord of the castle, who rarely leaves his room. He always has something to do for Berk, which usually means Berk has to cook him food.
  • Trap Door Monster:
    • Rogg , a large pink creature. He is not intelligent, but likes Berk and helps him in many sticky situations.
    • Bubo , a mysterious little yellow creature that can make itself invisible. He is one of Berk's adversaries.

action

Berk, Boni and Trudi live in a castle in a "dark and eerie area where nobody goes". Berk is the servant of the "being from above". In almost every episode, something comes out of the trap door that is in the basement hallway. Often a friendly creature will appear to help Berk push the creature back from the trap door into the trap door.

Video games

In 1986 the games The Trap Door appeared and shortly afterwards the successor Through The Trap Door for the ZX Spectrum , the Amstrad CPC and the Commodore 64 .
