The Follyfoot Farm
The Follyfoot Farm was a 39-part English television series produced near Leeds in North Yorkshire , England from 1971 to 1973 . The stories were based on the teenage novels Cobbler's Dream (1963) and Follyfoot (1971) by Monica Dickens . The German first broadcast began on October 2, 1973 in the evening program on ZDF .

The theme music The Lightning Tree , written by Steven Francis and sung by the band The Settlers , reached number 36 in the UK charts.

As with some successful television series at the time, a comic series was also created for the Follyfoot Farm , published in Germany by Bastei Verlag . The record label Europa brought out a radio play .
