The Greens - Generation Plus
The Greens - Generation plus (formerly Gplus - Die Grünen Seniors Austria) are a group of older people who, as activists, supporters or members of these associations or sub-organizations, are close to or belong to the Austrian Greens.
founding
The organization was founded on March 9, 2001 in the Viennese Café Landtmann by Doris Eisenriegler from Upper Austria and Dieter Schrage , among others , in order to represent the diverse interests and concerns of older people both within the Greens and outside. As an umbrella organization, you should set up independent and active groups of federal states throughout Austria in order to be able to cater to the special needs of older people in their living environment. There are now 8 federal state groupings of different strengths, most of which are organized as an association and at the same time as a sub-organization of the respective state Green Party.
Political concerns
It advocates the concerns and needs of older people in Austria on the basis of the basic program of the Greens and their basic values. The issue of the quality of life of older people in Austria is the focus of the work, ie educational opportunities, pension issues, intergenerational approaches, health promotion, care and support, new forms of living and many other aspects of everyday life for older people. But also within Green Austria, the Greens - Generation plus set important accents in political and socio-political work.
The existing federal state organizations are represented with their own program at numerous events, work in various committees and promote acceptance and tolerance of older people at all levels.
