Birgit Meinhard-Schiebel

Birgit Meinhard-Schiebel (born January 8, 1946 in Vienna ) is an actress, adult educator, social manager and politician. From 2005 to 2015 she volunteered in the Vienna Green Party ( Die Grünen Wien ). Since November 24, 2015 she has been a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

In 2005 she was elected chairwoman of the Green Seniors of Vienna, in 2006 she followed Waltraut Antonov to the regional executive committee of the Vienna Greens. In June 2007 she was elected state spokeswoman by the state assembly of the Vienna Greens (2007 to 2008). Since 2009 she has been Deputy Chairwoman of Gplus Austria (DGS), since 2010 Vice-Chairwoman of ENGS (European Network Green Seniors) and senior spokeswoman for the Wiener Grünen. In 2010 she worked with Susanna Kragora , Werner Haslauer u. a. Author of the “Green Elderly Rights”. On May 10, 2013 she was elected Chairwoman of ENGS. She ran for the National Council elections in 2013 at number 7 on the Vienna Green State List. On the occasion of the Vienna state and local council elections in 2010 , she was elected District Councilor for the Vienna district of Alsergrund.

Among other things, she was a voluntary consultant for training and further education issues for disabled people in the Austrian Rehabilitation Working Group for nine years, worked with women looking for work for 18 years and was responsible for social services in the Austrian Red Cross for almost 10 years .

Further voluntary work on EU projects on the subject of lifelong learning, intergenerational learning and on projects on the subject of health promotion for older people, violence prevention against older people, generation theater, Danube networkers, LOCATION: Seegasse 16 (“Schwedenmission” Vienna).

Since 2010 she has been president of the interest group of caring relatives, which campaigns for the concerns of people of all generations who look after and care for relatives, friends or known people. She also does this on a voluntary basis.
