action

Eva and Peter live as orphans in a mountain village in the Alps . One day their village is attacked by a horde of raiding robbers . Together with their grandmother, they dare to flee into an uninhabited valley. During this escape, the connection to the outside world is broken because the only bridge over the river is destroyed. The three are trapped in a hostile environment in the middle of the mountains.

Even more: the grandmother falls seriously ill and dies. Without any outside help, Eva and Peter have to make a living. With the most primitive means, they live like stone age people . You have to learn to brave the seasons, especially the harsh winters in the mountains. Surprisingly, they discover that they are not alone: they soon become friends with the hermit Lapadu, who saves their lives in winter when Eva and Peter run out of fire and almost freeze to death.

Peter builds a house, Eva furnishes it and they both get used to life in the wilderness. But Peter feels a strong urge to return to civilization. During one of his forays he finds a way to a village. Eva and Peter, meanwhile in love with each other, decide to get married and leave the valley.
