location
Asenray is located in the rural area between Roermond and the German border. It has been connected to the international trunk road network since 2008. The most important roads are the A73 in the west, the N280 -East in the north and the BAB 52 one kilometer away . Asenray can be reached from Roermond via the Laatweg and via Boukoul / Swalmen. The surrounding villages are Maalbroek, Straat, Spik and Thusershof.
The RAF base RAF Brüggen was located near the border until 2002 . The British jet fighters rose above Asenray, which is why the village had to struggle with aircraft noise for many years and could not be built.
The Maasnielderbach runs along the village.
building
Asenray is a small village and has a church, a parish hall and a cafe. The church was built in 1931/32 according to the design of the architect Joseph Franssen. It was damaged in the war and then restored and enlarged between 1947 and 1948 after the war.
