Die Klosterjäger was an Austrian show band that performed very successfully with party, mood, hit and folk music.

The band last consisted of the three musicians Erich Buchner (born February 3, 1969 ), Stephan Herzog (born November 3, 1977 ) and Thomas Ortner (born March 29, 1981 ). The name of the group is derived from a local novel by the Bavarian folk poet Ludwig Ganghofer that romanticizes the mountains . The band performed outside of the country's borders in Switzerland , Germany , France , the Netherlands , Luxembourg and Italy , the USA and Tunisia .

The monastery hunters completed television appearances in the Musikantenstadl , the ZDF television garden and in the popular programs Melodies of the Mountains and Music Paradise .

The monastery hunters disbanded at the end of 2012. Thomas Ortner runs his recording studio Studio Tirol , where he has numerous groups such as B. produces the Zellberg Buam. Stephan Herzog is a solo artist with his "one-man-show" music with Stephan Herzog over 200 times a year. He is also active as a songwriter for numerous groups.
