The original grouse shooting is a shoot-'em-up - computer game . The game was released for Windows in 1999 .

Creation of the game

The game was developed as a promotional game for Johnnie Walker and presented on laptops in selected pubs and bars. Particularly good shooters were given a copy for private use. Because the file was small, it could easily be sent by email . As a result, the game spread at breakneck speed and caused a real grouse boom around the turn of the millennium. The grouse gained nationwide recognition throughout Germany.

game

In the game you have to shoot as many of the grouse as possible in 90 seconds. The left mouse button is used to fire and reload with the right mouse button. Grouse that fly close to the shooter score five points when they are fired, ten points when they are farther away from the shooter, and grouse that fly far away on the horizon score 25 points when they are shot. In addition, in each game there are four grouse tied to the wings of a windmill, each of which earns 25 points for killing them, and an additional 25 points for killing the hat on a scarecrow. In addition, a “mother hen” appears at irregular intervals with loud cackling at the edge of the screen; it earns 25 points when shot. If you shoot other flying objects than grouse, you lose 25 points. You always have to reload the rifle after eight shots in order to be able to shoot more grouse.
