Die Stadt der Diebe is a children's book by Klaus Kordon with drawings by Julian Jusim from 2001. The book has 76 pages and in December 2001 received the title Book of the Month from the German Academy for Children's and Youth Literature .

The book tells the story of Muheddin, who is abandoned by his family one night in a big city and so turns from beggar to thief . He regularly complains of his fate at a water lily pond, which annoys the magic water snake Ka who lives there so much that she grants him a wish. He wants the magic turban , which makes its owner infinitely rich , but which also has a curse on it .
