action

The police have had their sights on the Pruszków group for a long time and are looking for a candidate whom they would like to "turn around" or poach for their purposes. The inspector Sikora observes that one of the members of the group (Blacha) is increasingly getting into an argument with the others.

Blacha is married but has a secret affair with Gosia. One evening at the group's local hangout, Gosia is raped by two high-ranking members of the group. Blacha sees this, but doesn't dare to help her. Gosia then accuses him of rape and Sikora has a reason to put pressure on Blacha. Blacha was to be poached; it is not too high in the hierarchy of the group, but high enough to get the information useful to the police. Sikora waits a little longer, and after Blacha's next argument with his lover's rapists escalates, Sikora places explosives under Blacha's wife's car to make him believe it was the group. Blacha is afraid for his family and falls for Sikora's trick.

The cooperation between Sikora and Blacha is going well, they even trust each other to a certain extent. However, Blacha is aware that he must abstain from passing the information on to Sikora in order to remain valuable. But one day they are observed at one of the secret meetings and the heads of the Pruszków group (Mnich and Szybki) find out about it. Blacha is warned by Skalpel - his best friend in the group - and turns to Sikora, who already has a plan. Blacha should claim that he had poached Sikora to serve the group.

Blacha fears no one will believe the story, as Sikora is known as a thoroughly honest and respected police officer. Sikora then says that his son is terminally ill and that his condition is deteriorating dramatically. So he needs the money for expensive treatments abroad.

In the meantime, one of the heads of the Pruszków group, Mnich, hires a killer (Beria) who kills Ptasiek's son - the head of the rival group Wołomin. So Mnich wants to gain respect and take power over both groups. But with that he sparked a brutal war between the two groups.

Since Sikora's son is indeed terminally ill, the Pruszków group believes (after hearing Sikora's unsuspecting daughter) that Blacha is telling the truth, but Mnich does not allow itself to be deterred.

It turns out that Beria and Sikora did military service together in their youth; On Mnich's instructions, Beria is supposed to build up the old friendship with Sikora and expose his collaboration with Blacha.

Meanwhile, the police are looking for the unknown killer; Sikora is invited to an unofficial hearing and learns that his military comrade is the suspect. The next time Sikora is at Beria's house, he searches for and finds evidence against Beria, who however realizes that Sikora has learned the truth. Then Beria wants to get Sikora out of the way and follows him one night when Sikora is on his way to an arranged meeting with Blacha. In the darkness of the night Sikora believes that Blacha is coming towards him, but when he notices that it is Beria who is already aiming at him, Blacha is able to save Sikora's life from an ambush at the last second. Both disappear from the scene. The war between the Pruszków and Wołomin gangs has escalated, and after Skalpel and Szybki were killed on Ptasiek's orders, Blacha and Mnich should be next.

Sikora can no longer adequately protect Blacha from this; therefore he has him arrested and arranged for him to be included in the witness protection program .
