Annalena McAfee

Annalena McAfee (born in London in 1952 ) is a British journalist and writer.

Life

Annalena McAfee graduated from the University of Essex . She began her journalistic career as a theater and art critic at the London Evening Standard and then worked in the arts and literature features of the Financial Times . From 1999 to 2006 she directed the Saturday Review at the Guardian .

McAfee published an anthology of author profiles that appeared in the Guardian . She also participates in literary and art awards and directs literary festivals and was a juror for the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2003 .

McAfee wrote some children's books with Anthony Browne , among others . You received 1985 for my papi, only mine! Or: visitors who came to stay for the German Youth Literature Prize .

McAfee has been married to writer Ian McEwan since 1997 and lives in London.
