The Christian Art was a monthly magazine thatappearedin Munich from 1904 to 1937. The title addition read in the years 1–22 monthly for all areas of Christian art and art history as well as for the entire art life , then up to the last, the 33rd year, monthly for all areas of Christian art and art history .

The magazine was published in conjunction with the German Society for Christian Art by the Society for Christian Art GmbH Munich . The editor was Sebastian Staudhamer until 1924 , then Georg Lill , Michael Hartig and Richard Hoffmann . It contained photographs and explanations of large “classical” works, but also gave a lot of space to contemporary ecclesiastical-Christian art.

In the last issue, under the heading To Our Readers, it said:

“Today we take leave of our readers with sadness. The reorganization of the press legal situation has resulted in the fact that the magazine may not be continued by the publisher 'Gesellschaft für christliche Kunst GmbH' ”.
