Working Group of Catholic Theological Libraries
The Working Group of Catholic Theological Libraries (AKThB) is an association of 137 academic libraries with a focus on Catholic theology . The libraries are located in German-speaking countries and are sponsored by the Roman Catholic Church . It was founded in Frankfurt am Main in 1947 .
In addition to the full members, other theological libraries are state sponsored and associated members outside of the German-speaking area.

organization
The working group has been holding an annual conference since 1950 and has been publishing a newsletter since 1952/53 , which was under the editorship of Klemens Honselmann until 1958 . Honselmann was also treasurer until 1978. The working group also publishes a yearbook .
In 1994 a data pool of theological libraries was created, which was later included in the Church Union Catalog (KiVK).
The database of the Index theologicus is made available for the member libraries.
