Matthias Buschkühl

Matthias Buschkühl (* 1953 in Hamburg ; † September 12, 1997 there ) was a German librarian .

Life

After graduating from the Sankt Ansgar School , he studied English and history at the Universities of Hamburg , London and Dublin . In 1978/1979 he passed the state examination for higher teaching qualifications and in 1979 was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD . He entered the higher library service with stations at the Berlin State Library (1979–1981) and the Eichstätt-Ingolstadt University Library (1981–1994) as a specialist in theology and history and as head of the manuscript department. He headed the scientific edition St. Walburg . From 1994 until his death in 1997 he was director of the newly founded Archbishop's Diocesan Library in Hamburg , some of which was later transferred to the library of the Institute for Theology and Peace . He headed the Working Group of Catholic Theological Libraries from 1995 to 1997 as chairman.
