Fábio Rafael Rodrigues Cardoso (born April 19, 1994 in Águeda ) is a Portuguese football player who was last under contract with the Glasgow Rangers .
Career
society
Fábio Cardoso was born in Águeda in 1994 . Until 2012, Cardoso, who was used in defense, played in the youth of Benfica Lisbon . In August 2012 he made his professional debut for the club's second team in the Segunda Liga against Sporting Braga B when he was substituted on for Lionel Carole . In January 2015 Cardoso was loaned to the Portuguese first division club FC Paços de Ferreira , and played sixteen league games in the second half of the 2014/15 season . Also in the 2015/16 season he played on loan in Paços de Ferreira and was used 22 times and scored one goal against Vitória Guimarães . In July 2016 he moved to Vitória Setúbal on a free transfer and signed a four-year contract. Just one year later he moved to the Glasgow Rangers in Scotland for a fee of £ 1.5m . The contract was terminated in July 2018.
National team
Fábio Cardoso played for various junior national teams in Portugal from 2009 to 2014. He made his debut in 2009 in the U-15 against Bulgaria . With the U-19 , Cardoso took part in the European championship of this age group in Lithuania four years later . There he reached the semi-finals with the team that were lost to the eventual winner of the tournament Serbia . Cardoso played his last game in the national shirt in the U-20 against England in June 2014 during the tournament in Toulon .
