The Segunda Liga 2012/13 was the 23rd season of the second highest Portuguese football league . The season started on August 11, 2012 and ended on May 20, 2013.

The league has been increased by six clubs to 22 compared to the previous season. From the Primeira League there was only one relegated CD Feirense. União Leiria had to relegate two classes lower to the IIª Divisão due to financial difficulties .

Varzim SC was denied promotion to the Segunda Liga for the same reasons. Therefore, with CD Tondela, there was only one sporty climber. There were also six reserve teams from the Primeira Liga who were not eligible for promotion.
