The Segunda Liga 2005/06 was the 16th season of the second highest Portuguese football league . The season started on August 21, 2005 and ended on May 7, 2006.

The league was played with 18 teams. Three relegated from the Primeira Liga and three promoted from the IIª Divisão were added.

Because of the reduction in the league from 18 to 16 clubs for the following season, there were two promoted to the Primeira Liga and six relegated to the IIª Divisão at the end of the season.
