The Carolingian miniatures

The Carolingian miniatures are a corpus work for the publication of all Carolingian illuminated manuscripts .

The work was founded by Wilhelm Koehler (Vol. 1–3) and continued by Florentine Mütherich (Vol. 4–9) on behalf of the German Association for Art History and as part of the series Monuments of German Art it edited . Wilhelm Koehler began the work in 1906, the first volume appeared in 1930. Florentine Mütherich had worked with him since the 1950s, who continued the work after his death in 1954 and was able to conclude the last volume in 2013.
