Die oder keine is a major operetta in two parts (ten pictures ) with music by Ludwig Schmidseder , the libretto by Heinz Hentschke and the lyrics by Günther Schwenn . The work had its world premiere on March 20, 1939 at the Metropol Theater in Berlin. Werner Schmidt-Boelcke was the musical director.

The revue operetta takes place in Heidelberg and in Africa at the time of the premiere, i.e. in the 1930s. The 10 pictures are: 1st picture: On a banana plantation, 2nd picture: On the high seas, 3rd picture: A bar, 4th picture: Freifäulein von Dobermann - discreet marriage initiation, 5th picture: An intimate bar, 6th picture : On the racecourse, 7th picture: In the vine arbors of Heidelberg, 8th picture: In front of the Heidelberg castle ruins, 9th picture: An intimate bar, 10th picture: Garden party in the Villa Jansen.

Die oder keine had over 600 performances within a few years and was considered one of the most successful contemporary operettas at the time.
