The Diedam vehicle plants were an existing 1950-1980 machinery and vehicle factory in the East Westphalian city Mastholte in Gütersloh , East Westphalia .

On June 1, 1950 Josef and Franz Diedam founded in Mastholte the brothers Diedam machinery and vehicle factory . Initially, the company started in a small rented blacksmith's shop as a farrier's shop , agricultural machinery trade and repair shop , with some self-developments in vehicle construction already being carried out.

In 1955 the company moved into its own premises. Were produced among others platform trucks, manure spreaders , slurry tanker -large-milk truck special, which were marketed under the name "gedima" Lang timber trucks for the forestry and.

In 1957 the brothers separated and Josef Diedam continued the business alone. In the following years the company developed successfully. The most important products included two- and three- way tippers for agriculture, high-speed machines for municipal companies and skip containers for the waste management industry. The vehicles ran out of series production as a rule under the name Diedam. But it was also produced in large numbers for the brands WCG-Kipper, Nolte-Kipper, FARM-Container and the globally exporting vehicle manufacturer Blumhardt . For the latter, over 2000 water trucks were delivered for the Middle East during this period.

From the beginning of the 1970s, the development of volume vehicles was increasingly promoted. The result was 16-tonne large-capacity three-way tipper and a 13-ton high and rear tipper that was suitable for tipping sugar beets into railroad cars. The first newly developed low-loader truck trailers left the factory in 1976 . Josef Diedam died on November 15, 1976. At this point in time, around 160 employees were producing up to 25 vehicles per day.

The company was continued by Ursula Diedam, Josef Diedam's wife. The focus of the company was the series production, the construction of vehicles with steel side walls and the special construction for volume vehicles and high-speed vehicles. As a result, the operating area was expanded by two large halls with around 5,200 m² for series production to a total of 13,500 m². However, the company took over and on May 10, 1980, bankruptcy had to be filed. Diedam Fahrzeugwerke was broken up and parts of the production plant went to the Tiede company in Werther , which continued to sell vehicles under the name FARM-Container for a few years. Ursula Diedam then founded a trading company that briefly sold Dutch-made vehicles. From autumn 1981, no more vehicles were sold under the brand name Diedam.

After a short interim use by the Münkel company, the premises were sold to the Wirus works in Gütersloh.
