Diego Farias da Silva (born May 10, 1990 in Sorocaba ) is a Brazilian soccer player . He is currently under contract with the Italian first division club Cagliari Calcio .

Farias began his career in the youth of Chievo Verona . From 2008 to 2015 he had a professional contract there, but was not used in any league game. From 2009 he had several loan stations. Until 2010 he played for Hellas Verona , 2011 for Foggia Calcio and from 2011 to 2012 for Nocerina Calcio . From 2012 to 2013 he was loaned to Calcio Padova , then to Sassuolo Calcio for a year .

He has been playing for Cagliari Calcio since 2014, the first year on loan. In summer 2015 he then moved to the Sardinian club for a transfer fee of 1.25 million euros .

On August 4, 2017, the club announced that the contract with Farias had been extended until 2021. After a loan to FC Empoli at the beginning of 2019, another loan was made to US Lecce in August .
