Diego Girolamo Maderni

Diego Girolamo Maderni OFMCap (* around 1700 in Capolago ; he was first mentioned on September 25, 1725; † August 20, 1761 in Lugano ) was a Swiss Capuchin .

Life

Diego Girolamo Maderni came from a family that has been recorded in Capolago since the first half of the 14th century.

In 1725 he made his profession with the Capuchins of the Milanese Order Province , to which the Ticino Capuchins belonged until 1786 . In the following time he was initially a preacher, then became a teacher of theology in Milan and Lugano as well as Guardian in Como and Milan.

In 1760 he was appointed provincial minister of the Milanese Capuchins.

Diego Girolamo Maderni was also co-author of the 56 sonnets of the Marian litanies, which appeared in Lugano in 1757 as Per le litanie della Beata Vergine Maria .
