Celestino Trezzini

Celestino Trezzini (born February 15, 1883 in Sessa ; † November 1, 1967 in Freiburg im Üechtland ) was a Swiss priest , local historian , researcher and publicist .

Life

Celestino Trezzini was born the son of Giovanni Trezzini, parish clerk , and Luisa Marchesi from Sessa. He studied from 1896 to 1904 at the seminars of Pollegio and Lugano , and from 1904 to 1908 at the University of Freiburg . In 1906 he was ordained a priest and in 1912 his doctorate utriusque iuris .

From 1909 to 1917 he was Professor at the Collegio von Pollegio, in 1924 Professor at the University of Friborg (Switzerland), Dean; 1930–1931 rector of the University of Freiburg; in Freiburg also synod judge, 1935–1962 president of the diocesan court, 1937 honorary canon of the cathedral and expert at the Second Vatican Council , 1946 house prelate of Pope Pius XII. and author of Ticino articles for the Historisch-Biographisches Lexikon der Schweiz .
