Hallway house (Stralsund)
The hall house is a listed building in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund .
It is located on Mühlenstrasse and is number 3. The hall house typical of northern Germany is a Gothic merchant's house from the 14th century. It consists of an open hall on the ground floor (hence the name); there are storage rooms on the upper floors . From the spacious hall it was possible to transport larger goods by freight elevator for storage in the storage facilities above. The hall house was extensively restored in the 1970s. Today civil weddings take place here.
The Dielenhaus located in the core area of the UNESCO as a world heritage site recognized urban area of the inheritance Historic Centers of Stralsund and Wismar . It is also part of the Schwedenstrasse , a holiday route in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Brandenburg with a cultural-historical theme.
The later painter Wilhelm Brücke was born in the house.
