Fire service ranks

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the fire departments there are in the various countries ranks after level of training are awarded, service use and / or seniority. For some ranks only the level of training is important, for others the level of training, the duration of the service or even the specific function are decisive (e.g. trainer in the fire service ).

In Germany and Austria the ranks are partly similar, but differ in details. This depends on the respective German federal states, as the ranks in Germany are regulated separately for each federal state. In Switzerland , the ranks are based on the military ranks of the Swiss Army (before 2003).
