Dieter Grossmann (artist)

Dieter Grossmann (born April 24, 1926 in Frankfurt an der Oder ) is a German artist whose focus is on digital art . He lives and works in Ulm .

Life

From 1948 to 1952 Grossmann studied art at the Berlin University of the Arts under Professors Wilhelm Tank and Speidel. He then worked from 1954 to 1991 as a graphic designer at Telefunken , most recently as art director . From 1974 to 1992 he taught as a lecturer at the Ulm Adult Education Center and at the University of Ulm . Grossmann has been a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists since 1970 .

In 1996 he discovered the computer as his medium.

Awards

Grossmann won several awards and prizes at home and abroad in the field of traditional media and for his work with computers.

  • 1966 silver medal for graphic design, Berlin / Germany
  • 1973 gold medal for graphic design, Berlin / Germany
  • 1976 bronze medal "Art in Medicine", Cologne / Germany
  • 1998 First prize for computer painting in Germany "Tetenal Creative Inkjet Award"
