Dieter Matthaei

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dieter Matthaei (born February 1, 1949 in Clausthal-Zellerfeld ) is a German radiologist and internist .

Matthaei studied physics and medicine at the Technical University of Clausthal , the Free University of Berlin and the Georg-August University of Göttingen . In 1977 he received his doctorate in Göttingen. From 1983 to 1987 he was a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen and is now a specialist in internal medicine in Göttingen .

In 1985 he was involved with Jens Frahm , Axel Haase , Wolfgang Hänicke and K. Dietmar Merboldt in the invention of the FLASH ( fast low-angle shot ) method , which further clinical use of magnetic resonance tomography ( MRT ) for imaging diagnostics significantly influenced.

He is co-founder of the journal Magnetic Resonance Materials in Physics, Biology and Medicine ( ISSN  0968-5243 and ISSN  1352-8661 ).
