Axel Haase

Axel Haase (born April 6, 1952 in Hof ) is a German physicist .

He received his doctorate in 1980 at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen on the subject of pH indications as potential probes in membranes: localization a. Application . He conducted research in Oxford , Göttingen , Bremen and Würzburg on nuclear magnetic resonance in biological systems. He is a full professor of physics in Würzburg. From 2004 to 2009 he was President of the University of Würzburg . Since the beginning of 2010 head of the Central Institute for Medical Technology at the Technical University of Munich . One of his works marks a breakthrough in clinical magnetic resonance imaging (MRT) through the introduction of fast FLASH sequences. He is the founder and editor of the scientific journal Magnetic Resonance Materials in Physics, Biology and Medicine .
