Dieter Teipel

Dieter Teipel (* 1947 ) is a German sports psychologist and university professor .

Life

Born in the Sauerland , Teipel studied at the German Sport University Cologne (DSHS). There he completed his doctoral thesis in 1979 and his habilitation in 1987 (subject: “Diagnostics of coordinative skills: a study on the structure and cross-sectional development of fine and gross motor skills”).

From 1987 to 1992 he held a professorship for sports psychology in Cologne, after which he stayed until 1993 as a visiting professor at the University of Tsukuba in Japan . In 1993 he took up a professorship for sports psychology / sports motor skills at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena , which he held until his retirement in 2013.

His research dealt with the subjects of "Interaction between coaches and athletes in handicapped competitive sports", "Stress on coaches in football", "Anger control in judo", "Attention regulation in badminton", balance ability and "Stress on referees and Women referees in football ”. As a sports psychologist, Teipel also trained football coaches and referees.
