Dieter W. Zygowski

Dieter W. Zygowski (born May 9, 1953 ; † November 29, 2002 ) was a German cave and karst researcher and, in the function of bibliographical consultant on karst and cave research for the entire German-speaking area, was a long-time member of the Association of German Caves and Caves Karstforscher eV ( VdHK ).

Zygowski published the first comprehensive and annotated " Bibliography on Karst and Cave Studies in Westphalia" with 2,372 titles from the years 1571 to 1987. In addition, he published detailed annual bibliographies (with> 1,000 titles each) for the VdHK in the period 1980–1985, each of which includes the entire German-language speleological literature.

Its speleological collections (books, graphics and postcards - worldwide) are administered at the Dechenhöhle (Iserlohn) and, if the German Cave Museum there is to be expanded in the future, will be incorporated into it at the request of the founder.
