The Dietlhofer See is located within the city of Weilheim near the northern city limits. Along with the Gögerl and the Ammer, it is one of the most popular local recreation areas for the people of Weilheim.
The tote lake that was formed during the last ice age takes its name from the neighboring hamlet of Dietlhofen. It has a total water surface of 89,000 m² and a water depth of up to 19.6 meters. Despite its consistently very good water quality, its water temperature can rise to 29 ° C in summer.
The lake, which is monitored by the water watch, offers a raft, a large football field and an outdoor basketball court, as well as numerous leisure activities. A lakeside restaurant with a large beer garden is also available.
