Dietmar Palmi
Dietmar Palmi (born September 9, 1964 ) is a German-Austrian table tennis player . In the 1980s he was one of the strongest players in Austria.
Palmi was born in Germany. He initially lived in Linz with his German parents and had both German and Austrian citizenship. He has been married to Sabine Obermeier from Linz since May 21, 1993.
In 1979 he moved from the Linz table tennis club to the TTC Langenlois. With this club he was Austrian national champion several times. In 1984 Palmi was signed by the German Bundesliga club SSV Reutlingen 05 , with whom he reached the final of the ETTU Cup in 1988. He stayed in Reutlingen until 1990, after which he moved to TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen . From 1996 he played for SV Plüderhausen , from 2006 initially for two years for Ottenbronn (Oberliga), then two years for the southern Baden club SpVgg Ottenau (Oberliga Baden-Württemberg and Regional League South). Since summer 2010 he has been playing again for his first German club, SSV Reutlingen, currently (2012) in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg.
Palmi represented Austria at all six world championships between 1981 and 1991 . In 1984 and 1990 he took part in European championships .
Palmi is a defender.
