The Dietrich Bonhoeffer Church in Kirchhausen , a district of Heilbronn in northern Baden-Württemberg , is a Protestant church that was inaugurated in 1986.

history

Kirchhausen, which originally belonged to the Teutonic Order , remained almost entirely Catholic even after the Reformation , due to its membership in the order . In 1903 there were only 29 Evangelical Christians in the village, besides 1258 Catholics. By 1964 the number of Protestants had grown to 280. In 1967 the Protestant community acquired a building site on the outskirts, but was still using the facilities of the Catholic community for the time being. In 1975 the Protestant community moved into rented rooms in the Teutonic Order Castle . In 1985 the foundation stone was finally laid for the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Church in the vicinity of the castle, which was inaugurated the following year. A parish hall and several rooms for church group work are integrated into the church. The design of the altar table , ambo , baptismal table , communion relief above the altar and colored windows comes from Ingrid Seddig from Korb. The altar table, ambo and baptismal table are made of brushed pine wood.
