Dietrich Joseph Speckhewer

Dietrich Joseph Speckhewer (baptized August 29, 1659 in Aachen ; † April 29, 1714 there ) was lay judge and mayor of the imperial city of Aachen .

Life

Dietrich Joseph Speckhewer was baptized on August 29, 1659 in St. Foillan in Aachen. His father was the aldermen Johann Adam Speckhewer (1627–1662), a son of the multiple mayor Dietrich Speckhewer († 1666), his mother his wife Anna Maria Schörer.

It is not known when Dietrich Joseph Speckhewer was elected lay judge. In 1683 he joined the star guild, the professional representation of the Aachen lay judges. In 1695 he was first documented as a lay judge.

On April 11, 1699, Dietrich Joseph Speckhewer married Catharina Isabella von Bodden (1677–1729), a daughter of the multiple mayor Peter Ludwig Bodden, in St. Foillan . From this marriage, the future lay judge Theodor Joseph (1677–1729) emerged as the eldest son.

In 1709 and 1711 Dietrich Joseph Speckhewer was elected mayor for one year each . He died in Aachen on April 29, 1714 and was buried on May 2.
