Dietrich Kessel
Dietrich Kessel (born August 13, 1941 in Darmstadt ) is a German SPD politician .
education and profession
Dietrich Kessel graduated from high school in 1962. From 1962 to 1969 he studied sociology, political science and social policy at the University of Frankfurt, from which he graduated as a sociologist. Until 1974 he was a research assistant or academic employee at the Psychological Institute of the Ruhr University Bochum . From 1975 to 1990 he was employed in the administration of the Ruhr University.

Dietrich Kessel has been a member of the SPD since 1965. He was deputy chairman of the local association Witten-Krone, and since 2012 chairman of the SPD local association Witten-Heven-Krone. From 1988 to 2000 he was chairman of the SPD sub-district Ennepe-Ruhr. He was a member of the Ennepe-Ruhr district council from 1975 to 2009; He was chairman of the SPD district parliamentary group from late 1985 to 2009.
Dietrich Kessel was a directly elected member of the 11th , 12th and 13th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1990 to 2005.
