Dietrich von Schönberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dietrich von Schönberg († 1370 ) was Bishop of Meissen in 1370 .

Like two other bishops of the 15th century, Dietrich came from the Schönberg family . At the time of his election as bishop, he was Archdeacon of Nisan , but he had not yet been ordained a priest. This choice was initially declared null and void in Rome, but Pope Urban V finally confirmed it in a bull dated May 29, 1370. Dietrich died on his return journey from Rome, during which he had obtained his confirmation.
