The digi 73 (or Ruhla digital ) is a mechanical wristwatch from Ruhla , the first manufactured in the GDR with a disc display . This is how the manufacture of digital timepieces began in the watch industry of the GDR .

The watch was presented in 1973 at the Xth World Festival of Youth and Students in East Berlin .

variants

The clock was available in the basic form with three different colored dials and in several case shapes, both in the round "discus case" and in a more angular version. The first series is labeled “Ruhla digi 73”, the versions from 1974 to 1979 are labeled “Ruhla digital”. Since this model was also exported, it appeared there under the name “Anker” or “Karex”, each with a slightly different design. The ladies' version has a different structure and a classic round dial - these versions came on the market as caliber 24-36. There were also other dial markings and rare color variants. Among other things, a model with a gold anodized case was produced. All clocks are embossed with "INOXIDABLE ELECTRONICAL TIMED ANTIMAGNETIC" on the bottom. The rubber “racing bracelet” was available in several colors - mostly matching the color of the dial.

Regardless of the men's or women's version, the models cost 70 East German marks .

characteristics

The timepieces have a pin lever movement without rubies. Accordingly, the accuracy is +4 to −2 minutes per day. The left window shows the current hour and the right the minute. As is usual with disc clocks, the digi 73 has a " jumping hour ".
