Internet economy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The research area Internet economics deals with the economic use of the Internet. A single research approach within a science has proven to be insufficient here. Rather, several sciences are involved: information economy , business computer science , computer science , business administration , law , psychology and economics . The mistakes of the so-called New Economy should be avoided and the New Economy and Old Economy should be linked (see Web 2.0 ).

Sometimes there is talk of a fourth economic sector , the information economy . Accordingly, this would be the field of work of the Internet economy.

On June 25, 2013 the management consultancy Arthur D. Little presented an from eco - Association of the Internet Industry e. V. presented a study on the Internet economy in Germany commissioned. According to this, the internet economy alone will create over 80,000 jobs by 2016. It also forecasts average annual economic growth of over 11 percent until 2016. A follow-up study that was published on November 17, 2015 largely confirmed the forecasts from 2013 and assumed that the German Internet industry would grow by almost 60 percent to 114 billion euros for 2019, which corresponds to an annual increase of twelve percent.

With a price increase of 114 percent, Tencent is the big climber of 2017. This was followed by Alibaba , PayPal , Amazon and Facebook .
