The Dill-Zeitung is a German daily newspaper and appears in the printing and publishing house Weidenbach in Dillenburg ( Central Hesse ). The sold circulation was 5700 copies in the 4th quarter of 2018.

history

The publishing house is over 170 years old. In 1842, Eberhard Ernst Christian Weidenbach set up the first Dillenburg printing house at 101 Hauptstrasse. The Dillenburger Wochenblatt had already been founded in 1839 and was later renamed the newspaper for the Dillthal and then the Dill-Zeitung . The Dill newspaper first appeared on December 1, 1950. The local editions of the Dill newspaper were the Herborner Echo and the Haigerer Kurier (both discontinued on November 1, 2014). In 2002 the Dillenburger Wochenblatt was brought back to life. Since then, this has been published once a week as the official newsletter of the city of Dillenburg and is distributed to around 12,000 households in Dillenburg and the districts.

present

As part of the Lahn-Dill newspaper group, Dill-Zeitung obtains its content from Wetzlardruck GmbH ( Wetzlarer Neue Zeitung ). The editorial team had been working increasingly with Wetzlardruck since 2014 before the printing and publishing house Weidenbach was taken over by Wetzlardruck GmbH on July 1, 2016. The VRM subsidiary Gießener Anzeiger Verlags GmbH & Co KG merged with Wetzlardruck GmbH in 2018 to form the daily newspaper publisher with the highest turnover and circulation in Central Hesse. The Federal Cartel Office approved the transaction on May 8, 2018. VRM Holding GmbH & Co. KG from Mainz has a majority indirect interest in the new company, the Mittelhessen media group .
